Italian sculptor Gabriels made the trip to LA for the opening of his 'New Toys for Melancholics' on Saturday at Toy Art Gallery. Hand-sculpted and cast in polished bronze, his toys are a sight to behold. The true astonishment happens only when one has the opportunity to watch him disassemble the works into a table's worth of small, intricate pieces — each one hand-sculpted, as he did several times during the opening. Art toys indeed.
