We hope this edition of Proto Monday finds you well on Memorial Day.  Today we have a look at Nathan Jurevicius’s Monkey King figure forthcoming from Munky King.   Nathan originally created his take on the  mischievous Chinese mythological character for an animation project done with MTV Asia. His rendition of the prankster exudes a sleek, dare we say it regal appearance in contrast with the character’s often comical appearance.  Once Munky King’s Patrick Lam saw Nathan’s version of his store’s namesake, the vinyl figure project took flight on a fluffy cloud.  Under expert sculptor Dave Pressler’s keen eye and steady hand, Monkey King made the jump from 2D animation to 3D  as an 8" vinyl figure with removable staff. removable cloud and bendy arms and tail.  We’ll have more information including run sizes and colorway info as it becomes available.
