Denim Tears’ collaboration with COMME des GARÇONS extends into the olfactory realm — the two have joined forces with COMME des GARÇONS Parfums to launch the eau de parfum “Tears,” continuing the brand’s narrative around cotton and the land.

The scent lands in the Georgia countryside after rain: heat rising from the red clay, cotton fields soaked green and plump by the rain. Tremaine Emory says the summers spent in Harlem, Georgia made him remember certain smells — red clay, morning dew, sweat — all gathered into this one bottle. The perfume was composed by Paul Guerlain, a musky floral in three stages: the top blends galbanum, musk ambrette and sage, giving a green, slightly resinous lift; the heart opens with narcissus, jasmine, tonka grass and iris; the base closes with vetiver, hay, cyperus and musk for a dry rather than sweet finish.
