Buffer, a clothing brand rooted in 1980s–90s American culture, has set its sights on Spike Lee’s 1989 film 《Do the Right Thing》. A work that stages racial tensions through a sweltering Brooklyn block conflict, it still refuses to fade more than three decades later — and now it’s being worn.

Four T-shirts make up the collection. The graphics are handled by illustrator Shuntaro Takeuchi, who doesn’t simply reprint stills. Instead, he deconstructs and reassembles characters like Mookie and Radio Raheem, infusing them with the palette of the era’s hip-hop culture — as if torn from old posters and steeped once more in the sunlight of ’90s New York. Visually scorching and direct, it aligns with Buffer’s narrative-driven approach to each piece.
