The next KAWS: Holiday is upon us and in consideration of the need for social distancing in light of the global pandemic, the event is for the first time, virtual. Forgoing a terrestrial installation, the collaboration between KAWS and All Rights Reserved created a celestial celebration by launching the new Companion figure towards the heavens via high-altitude balloon.
The KAWS: Holiday Space polyurethane art toys (11.5″) feature a cosmic Companion in a space suit with his hands over his eyes. The new Space figures will be available in three editions: Gold, Black and Silver.
Reminiscent of KAWS’ spacey redesign of the MTV VMA Moonman trophy (2013), the new sculpt features a more realistic space suit with added details including hoses, valves and more.
The KAWS: Holiday Space resin art toys (11.5″) will be available on Monday (8.17) at 7 PM PDT from the DDT store for HK$2980 ($385)
