This Friday, April 9th is the opening reception of Brian Flynn’s Solo show “Only In Your Fondest Dreams” at Subtext. Here are some preview pics of his pieces that will be exhibited at the show. Brian will be bringing to the show an 8’ fiberglass sculpture, a new bronze sculpture edition, a ton of wood sculptures, custom toys, and silkscreens. Though I love Brian’s design, I can’t help but find pieces like this and recent painted sculptural pieces waaaaaaaaay too similar to Biskup’s Stacked and Totem pieces and this is so much like Tim’s Ghonner piece: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/118/277106646_9ed9f54e46.jpg
Ha, i came to post my concern over Mr. Flynn deciding he was the second coming of Tim Biskup only to see someone had beat me to it. I literally thought the pieces in question were collabs.
Its nice stuff though…Brian does nice stuff….
