A cream-pink Skull-Kun has become the meeting point of two eras of street aesthetics. The KATIE × BOUNTY HUNTER collaboration injects the former’s signature sweetness and darkness into the latter’s most recognisable skull image.

KATIE was founded in 1997 in Daikanyama, Tokyo, by two female designers, TAKI and LINDA. With “Girly & Rocksteady” as its core theme, the brand infuses music, imagery, and band culture into its designs, blending punk-style darkness and toughness into intensely feminine silhouettes. In an interview, LINDA once defined KATIE’s aesthetic this way: “‘Girly’ has a dark side, it is greedy, it contains cute things and a violent essence, and both of these contradictory elements can be savoured.” This insistence on the coexistence of sweetness and darkness laid the groundwork for the later collaboration with BOUNTY HUNTER.

BOUNTY HUNTER was founded by Hikaru Iwanaga in 1995 with encouragement from Hiroshi Fujiwara. Iwanaga, Jun Takahashi of UNDERCOVER, and NIGO of BAPE were fellow students at Bunka Fashion College, and the three once formed the punk band Tokyo Sex Pistol—an experience that injected a raw rebellious gene into his brand. In 1998, Iwanaga released the “Skull-Kun” sofubi figure—a skull character combining fun and darkness that quickly became one of the symbolic icons of Ura-Harajuku street culture.
The centrepiece of this collaboration, the B×H KATIE SKULL-KUN figure, stands approximately 180 mm tall and is crafted from sofubi (soft vinyl). In terms of colour, KATIE’s exclusive cream pink is integrated into BOUNTY HUNTER’s classic black skull silhouette, carrying nearly thirty years of street memory from both brands.
