Perhaps another self lives within everyone’s heart. If you met her, would you become friends? This is the first line ABAO left when unveiling the new character. No answer—only a question left hanging in the air.
Wolf Girl—the newest character born from ABAO’s pen—makes her debut with Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland as the narrative backdrop. But this is not a story about Alice falling down a rabbit hole. ABAO has placed Alice and the Cheshire Cat into the same body, letting them stand side by side while allowing them to turn away from each other and gaze in different directions. “Different sides, still me.” ABAO used this line as a footnote to the work.
This premise itself carries ABAO’s consistent creative logic. Her works never pursue a single dimension of “cuteness”—in ABAO’s universe, sweetness and unease, innocence and the grotesque always coexist, like an ongoing inner dialogue. Alice is the girl who fell into an unknown world; the Cheshire Cat is the riddle that smiles, disappears, and reappears. Keeping them in the same story is, in fact, an admission of one thing: a person can be both characters at once. The work is titled “Wolf Girl – Alice and Cheshire Cat ver.,” and the material is soft vinyl. The malleability of soft vinyl allows ABAO to sculpt two temperaments onto the same form—the wolf’s silhouette is shared, but they can each face different directions. Sales will be conducted via on-site pre-order at the 23rd Taipei Toy Festival (TTF 2026), held from October 8 to 11, 2026, at the Huashan 1914 Creative Park in Taipei. ABAO also serves as the key visual designer for this year’s TTF. The booth is located at A01 (ABAO @ PAWS NOVA). Exhibition hours are 10:00–19:00 daily, with the final day closing at 18:00.
